In preparation for the Bridge Building Competition which will be held in January, 2017, at CSU Sacramento, CRANE is offering an overview training of the TRAC (Transportation and Civil Engineering) program for teachers who are interested in participating in the competition.
This year the training will focus on the bridge building module and will provide an in-depth look at the whole module, including training with the simulation software. The training will take place at American River College - 4700 College Oak Drive, Sacramento, CA 95841 in Room 310 on Friday, October 28, 2016 from 8:30 AM - 2 PM.
There are three different competition levels teachers can choose to participate in. You are NOT required to compete in the competition to participate in the training. At the completion of the training, teachers will receive a class copy of the software so it can implemented in their classrooms. The starter kits are usually $1500. but CRANE will be covering the cost for the first 25 teachers who sign up! In addition to the software training, the Professional Engineers in California Government will arrange for state engineer mentors to visit, speak, and assist with lesson implementation.
