4th Annual CodeWars in Roseville
High School Programming Competition
We are excited to announce we will continue to host this fun event this year. We had over 100 competitors last year and hope to reach our goal of at least 150 this year! Please share with high school students and colleagues in CSTA, Computer Science, Robotics, Animation, Math and Home-School programs.
Rules, dates, sample problems (and solutions!) can be found on the CodeWars website: http://www.hpecodewars.org .
Registration is expected to open January 22. Teachers can self-register for an account and then register their teams of students on the CodeWars website above. We will initially limit the number of teams per school to spread the attendance among many schools. If we are short of our goal of 150 students, we will increase the school team count in February.
Any questions can be sent to me, the CodeWars Roseville coordinator, Hewlett Packard Enterprise engineer Ken Duisenberg at: Ken.Duisenberg@hpe.com. I may also be available to visit your classes to review the information in person. Email to ask!
As you’re sharing the information with students, please also share this important hint: The most common mistake teams make in CodeWars is arriving without knowing how to solve the problems from the prior years. Use the website’s huge archive of past problems and datasets (and solutions!) to train yourself! If you have questions how to be successful, send email and ask! If students send email, please have them Cc their teachers in all correspondence.
I’m looking forward to seeing you and your students on March 5!
